eRead Illinois Newsletter
February 13, 2014
Did you know that since the soft launch of the 3M Cloud Library shared collection on October 18 we've circulated over 9,000 items? Pretty impressive! The Axis 360 collection continues to grow every day and is currently made up of 6,100 unique titles. eRead Illinois Rocks!
SHARE members, you can still sign-up to participate in the 3M Cloud Library shared collection. To start participation on March 1, 2014, send Lesley the member fee request form before Friday, February 21. Already received a quote? Just let Lesley know that you want to start on March 1 and you’ll receive an updated welcome packet with the prorated membership fee for your library.
Non-SHARE libraries are welcome to sign-up to participate in the Baker & Taylor Axis 360 shared collection at any time. Simply fill out the request for membership participation fee form and email it to: email@example.com. For more information, visit the RAILS eRead Illinois page.
3M Tip of the Week:
Don’t forget, 3M Cloud Library circulation statistics for your individual library can be found by running reports in Polaris. There are two reports that work great for finding this information. You’ll find a handout on the IHLS eRead Illinois page that provides step-by step instructions on how to run these reports. Take a look at your stats today!
Visit Project Members from RAILS:
RAILS eRead Illinois project team members will be presenting at the ISLMA mini-conference in Charleston, IL on Saturday, March 8th and you’re invited! If you are attending PLA, you’ll also find Natalie and Veronda at the RAILS booth in the exhibit hall. Feel free to stop by, say hello, and ask them all of your eRead Illinois questions.
There are several training opportunities available for SHARE members throughout the month of February. Check out the times listed below and register in L2 for a session that works for you. (You will need to be logged into L2 to view the listings.)

You’ll find archived recordings of the 3M Cloud Library demo on the IHLS eRead Illinois page under “Training”. We’ve also added a new handout detailing the features of the 3M app. Feel free to print it off for patrons and staff members.
For non-SHARE members, a series of live training sessions and online webinars on the eRead Illinois Axis 360 platform are being held in February, March, and April. Live sessions are scheduled at different locations and are only available to staff from libraries participating in eRead Illinois (registration is required). Recordings of the Shared Collection Training and the Administrative Site webinars will be available at a later date and posted on the eRead Illinois website. For a complete list of upcoming training opportunities, see: www.railslibraries.info/eread-illinois-program/webinars-and-presentations. Technology Petting Zoo:
“Technology Petting Zoo” sessions are on tap for IHLS member libraries in March. Would your library be interested in hosting one or two of these sessions? Library staff members will have the chance to play around with devices in the IHLS petting zoo in a casual and supportive environment. Sessions will be limited to 10 participants and last approximately 1.5 hours. Email Lesley at email@example.com if you would be willing to schedule a session at your library.
