There’s Still Time to Sign-up:
Do you feel like you missed the eRead Illinois boat? Don’t worry you can still join either shared collection and your library will pay a prorated member fee for the rest of the year. SHARE members that would like to start participation in the 3M Cloud Library shared collection on August 1, 2014 should email Lesley by Friday, July 25. Non-SHARE libraries are welcome to sign-up to participate in the Baker & Taylor Axis 360 shared collection at any time. Simply fill out the request for membership participation fee form and email it to: email@example.com. For more information, visit the eRead Illinois website.

Carts in CAT:
To make sure our patrons have enough to read over the holiday weekend, I’ll be purchasing the items in your 3M Shopping Cart on Thursday, July 3. If you don’t have time to finalize your cart by noon on Thursday, never fear. I’ll check in on Monday, July 7 and purchase any new items you’ve placed over the weekend. 3M Tip of the Week:
Sometimes a patron will you bring you a device and the 3M app just won’t be working the way it should. Even with all of your troubleshooting expertise, you might not be able to figure out what’s wrong. The best course of action when this happens, is to have the patron uninstall and then reinstall the 3M Cloud Library app. Your patron’s books will not be lost during this process. Once the app is reinstalled, your patron can log back in and pick up where he/she left off. This simple trick can solve a myriad of problems, but if you need back up, feel free to email or call Lesley (contact info below) and she’ll troubleshoot with you.
3M Cloud Collection Development:
As you may have recently heard, Simon & Schuster has opened up their content to all libraries that support a Buy Now button through their interface. 3M has a Buy & Donate option as well. IHLS has enrolled in the 3M Buy & Donate Program, which means that Simon & Schuster content in now available for all of our libraries to purchase! What does all of this mean? Well, it means that a Buy and Donate button appears on the Patron Web Application. When clicked, the button sends patrons to a retail site to purchase items. 50% of the proceeds from these sales are then credited back to our shared collection! This button does not appear in Patron Apps on iOS or Android devices, nor does it appear on the PC or Mac application. To see how it works, log in with your patron id and pin at: https://ebook.3m.com/library/illinoisheartland/. Click on any book cover and the Buy & Donate button will appear to the right of the book summary.
