A Note from Lesley:
I’m officially back from maternity leave, so feel free to send any eRead Illinois questions my way at lzavediuk@illinoisheartland.org or via phone at 618.656.3216, ext. 424 and I’ll be happy to answer them. A big Thank You to everyone for all of your kind words of support for both me and baby Connolly. He’s a really special little guy and as you can see from the pic, he’s sure to be an avid library user!

Deadline to Start Participating July 1:
SHARE members that would like to start participation in the 3M Cloud Library shared collection on July 1, 2014 should email Lesley by Monday, June 23. You’ll pay a prorated member fee when you start in July. If you’re unsure about the cost for your library, simply fill out the 3M member fee request form and return it to Lesley.

Non-SHARE libraries are welcome to sign-up to participate in the Baker & Taylor Axis 360 shared collection at any time. Simply fill out the request for membership participation fee form and email it to: ereadillinois@railslibraries.info. For more information, visit the eRead Illinois website.

eRead Illinois Website:
The official eRead Illinois website is now available at: ereadillinois.com. The website features resources for readers, participating eRead Illinois libraries, and libraries considering eRead Illinois membership. The site provides a wealth of information about e-book resources for patrons and library staff, including links to sources of free e-books, a section for frequently asked questions, and an extensive help section. The eRead Illinois collection guidelines and information about the meetings of the eRead Illinois Advisory Committee are also available.

Library staff may log into the eRead Illinois website (bottom right corner) with the email address and password used for L2 (www.librarylearning.info) to access additional information, such as a fee estimator to calculate the eRead Illinois membership fee and a form to use to obtain an official membership quotation. Participating library staff may log in to access marketing materials for eRead Illinois libraries to use with their patrons and additional training documents for both the Axis 360 and 3M platforms.

3M Shopping Cart Purchases:
This week all IHLS staff members will be attending staff development training on Friday, June 20. That means that I’ll be purchasing the items placed in your 3M Shopping Cart on Monday, June 23 and you get a few bonus days to finalize the purchases you would like to make.

Training:
Stay tuned for more 3M training offerings in the coming weeks. We’ll be scheduling 3M CAT tutorials and technology petting zoos soon.

Scholastic is in the Catalog:
While I was gone, the 3M Cloud Library Collection Development team announced that Scholastic titles are now available to purchase in the 3M Cloud Library catalog. Finally, we can purchase titles such as: The Hunger Games, War Horse, Beauty Queens, Elijah of Buxton, and more!

3M Wish List:
This month, the lovely Miss Ryan Franklin from Mattoon Public Library sent out some great instructions regarding the 3M Wish List. We use grant funds to purchase some of the most requested Wish List items each week, but it’s great that our members can add these items to the collection as well. Your selections from the Wish List allow us to keep focusing our grant dollars on awesome new releases and best sellers!
