eRead Illinois Newsletter: October 22, 2013
eRead Illinois Newsletter
October 22, 2013
We’ve got lots of updates for you this week on the progress we’ve made and how soon you’ll be able to join the first ever statewide eBook Consortium in Illinois! First off, let’s talk launch dates. The Baker & Taylor Axis 360 shared collection will be launching on December 1, 2013. RAILS and non-SHARE member libraries can sign up now (more details below). The 3M Cloud Library shared collection will officially launch on November 18, 2013. SHARE member libraries may have noticed that you can already see some 3M e-books in the OPAC. That’s because we were able to do a “soft launch” and demo the Cloud at the ILA Conference last week. You’ll find training materials, upcoming events, and even more information in this newsletter, which we plan to produce weekly.
IHLS and RAILS are happy to announce that the eRead Illinois advisory team is committed to establishing an e-book program that is available to Illinois libraries after the two-year grant period. Therefore, the following criteria were established for the eRead Illinois membership fee. Fees for both IHLS and RAILS member libraries are the same. The eRead Illinois Membership Fee Structure includes:
base fee ($250/year) + population fee + 0.5% of collection budget = eRead Illinois membership fee
For more information and to receive a membership fee quote, view the following documents on the IHLS website:
