The next IHLS Board meeting is Tuesday, August 27, 2013. IHLS Board meetings will be available via videoconferencing at each of our four offices as well as the Illinois State Library. If you are not able to join us in Effingham, perhaps one of these other locations will be more convenient. When available, you will find the August agenda and board packet here.

Connect with Leslie

IHLS Holiday Closing

All IHLS offices will be closed in observance of Labor Day on Monday, September 2, 2013. Delivery and Talking Book Services will not be provided. Additional routes may run on Tuesday to compensate for volume. See our Office Hours page for a listing of IHLS Holidays.

OCLC Billing

All OCLC participating libraries should have received an audit letter from IHLS regarding their OCLC account balance. Please return these letters as soon as possible. If you have any questions please call Cheri (ext. 407) or Rosemary (ext. 401) at the IHLS Edwardsville Office at 618-656-3216.

With Much Appreciation

Two respected colleagues are about to embark on new chapters in their lives.

Sue Byers began her career with Rolling Prairie Library System (RPLS) in March 1989 and retired from full-time employment June 2011. She accepted a part-time position with IHLS in July 2011. After more than 24 years of service supporting resource sharing in our state Sue has decided it's time to leave the workday world and be free to fully enjoy the next chapter of her life. The majority of her system career has been devoted to library automation and our members have been blessed by her pleasant demeanor and determination to help wherever needed.

Terry Moreland started working with RPLS in June 1981 and will retire from IHLS this month. She will return to our organization in a part-time capacity working on special projects in September. We are thrilled that Terry will share some of her time, energy and skills to benefit our SHARE members!

Feel free to leave a comment on the IHLS Facebook page and we will share those wishes with our colleagues.

SHARE Update

Recorded Books is working on a price list for the schools to join the current Zinio consortium. More information will follow as soon as it is available.
