Lincoln Library-The Public Library of Springfield, Illinois is seeking three individuals to assist customers in making the most effective use of materials and information available in the library through a variety of ways, from assisting customers with computer databases to handling difficult reference questions using specialized tools. Other duties include, but are not limited to, developing, managing and maintaining a designated collection; maintaining familiarity with current events, new publications, media releases, community needs, and relevant tools, policies and procedures; processing interlibrary loans; and identifying and disposing of any outdated or damaged materials. Story time – develop timely themes of interest to children. Research and select themes 3 months in advance for timely inclusion in the Village Communicator, Library Newsletter, and newspaper submissions. .
Saturday Family Literacy Events – A wide range of programs/events are offered each month that appeal to children with different interests and abilities.
Summer Reading Saturday programs – during the months of June – August the YS Assistant participates in the Summer Reading Saturday programs, offering assistance to the parents and children who attend the events.
