Senior Archival Specialist - Chicago Public Library

Duties:  Experienced archivist to work with collections (paper and electronic). Responsible for the appraisal and processing of archival collections. Proficiency in full archival processing as well as More Product, Less Process. Experience writing finding guides. Knowledge of EAD, DACs and other metadata standards. Familiarity with digital formats and issues related to born-digital content. May train, supervise or review archival work by other staff. Provide reference service to patrons. Curate selected exhibits. Serve on digital collections team. Strong organizational skills. Dedicated commitment to public service. Ability to work creatively, collegially and effectively as part of a team and independently. Interpret library policy, procedures and regulations; help develop special collections policies, procedures and regulations. Demonstrated proficiency with library / archival technology applications. Working knowledge of standard computer office applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and other software. Maintain professional development through participation at local, state or national level. Perform related duties as required.

Library Director - Mukwonago, Wisconsin

The Mukwonago Public Library seeks an enthusiastic leader who will bring innovative ideas and a passion for libraries to the role of Library Director.

Serving over 22,000 residents, the library is located about 30 miles west of Milwaukee and is a member of the Waukesha County Federated Library System.

The 27,500 square foot library building, renovated and expanded in 2011, houses a collection of more than 68,000 books and 15,000 audio-visual items. Circulation is about 360,000 items. Annual budget of about $877,000, staff of 14.75 FTE

Librarian I (Teen Librarian) - Bloomington Public Library

Must LOVE Teens!

High energy, flexible, creative, and collaborative style necessary to lead, design, coordinate, and implement effective teen services and programming within the community.  Selects materials for the teen collection, classics, and adult graphic novels.  Other responsibilities include supervising teen volunteers; coordinating the Teen Advisory Board; assisting customers of all ages with research/reference needs; and contributing to the Library’s digital presence, including social networking and blogs.  Is a member of the Adult Services department and reports to the Adult Services Manager.

Collections Manager - Evansville Public Library

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assures the implementation of cost-effective centralized materials selection, collection maintenance/de-selection, ordering and receiving to assure a high quality and diverse collection of materials (print and non-print) throughout the EVPL system to appropriately meet the needs and requests of community and consistent with the Mission of EVPL.

Performs professional work supervising and directing the development and maintenance of the library collection, building and facilitating the department budget, training staff on the use of database and programs used for materials selection and management, tracking and reporting various format and collection trends, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the general direction of the Chief Operations Officer. Departmental supervision is exercised over all personnel within the department.

  • Acts as the adult collection specialist; selects materials; evaluates and develops collection goals; provides means for staff and customers to request materials; works with vendors to set up selection lists and orders.
  • Supervises, interviews, hires and trains staff; schedules, assigns and evaluates work; coaches, disciplines, promotes and terminates staff.
  • Develops, implements and monitors the library materials, resources and database budgets.
  • Oversees needs assessment, evaluation, selection, licensing and renewing and the coordination of the library's public use subscription databases.
  • Gathers, compiles and analyzes statistics and data relevant to collections; prepares reports for administration or staff to assist them with setting goals for weeding, building or organizing their collections.
  • Attends and facilitates various meetings as a member and representative of the organization.
    Keeps current on industry trends; makes recommendations regarding collections management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Reference Librarian (Full Time) - Six Mile Regional Library District (Granite City)

Circulation & Outreach Services Manager - Bloomington Public Library

Reference Librarian Faculty - College of DuPage

Full-time, tenure track position in the Library to serve as a reference librarian and liaison to selected academic departments. This position is responsible for reference, collection development, and library and information literacy instruction, and will serve as liaison to the College’s Natural Sciences, Mathematics, Engineering, and Physical Education departments. As part of a dynamic organization, specific assignments may change based on institutional needs.
