Lead Mentor - Project Next Generation

Position Description:
Joliet Public Library is looking for a part-time person to act as lead for our after-school technology program, Project Next Generation. This is a federal funded grant aimed at teens in grades 6 -8. Schedule would be Monday & Wednesday from 3:00 – 5:00pm for 6-8 weeks starting in mid/late October and prep time as needed up to 48 hours.

The Lead Mentor will be responsible for developing and implementing lesson plans involving computers, computer software, digital cameras, and other technologies as needed. Candidate should be knowledgeable with technology and software, especially those pertaining to photography; well organized; and have two years or more experience working with teens. Assistant Director - Morris Area Public Library District

The Morris Area Public Library, which proudly serves the community of Morris, Illinois, is seeking an experienced individual to assist in the overall professional administration of the library.

Duties: Assists Library Director with annual budget and other financial responsibilities. Assists with completion of annual reports and grant applications.  Coordinates staff training.  Assists with supervising and evaluating staff.  Participates in automated catalog consortium user groups and committees.  Represents the library through participation in community organizations and events.  Oversees the ongoing maintenance of library premises.  Performs other duties as assigned.

Collection Development and Access Librarian - Illinois Valley Community College

Illinois Valley Community College, located in North Central Illinois, seeks a Collection Development and Access Librarian whose primary responsibilities will include providing leadership in the management of library resources. The ideal candidate for this position will provide service to the students, faculty and staff; facilitate access to print and electronic resources through implementation of conventional and emerging means; and guide all collection development and technical service functions. 

Requirements include Master’s Degree in an ALA accredited Library Science program with teaching or training experience required.  Supervisory experience is preferred.

The Library Associate will be part of our Adult Services team and will assist customers of all ages at our Welcome and Ask Here desks, and in our TeenSpace, with information and reference questions; assist and instruct customers with their use of library computers, personal e-readers, and other technologies; prepare displays and demonstrations of library resources; and assist with collection support, and planning and presenting programs. Schedule includes daytime, two evenings per week, and rotating weekend shifts.

Director of Collection Management - Indianapolis Public Library
