Duties and Responsibilities:

The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign seeks an innovative, collaborative, and service-oriented professional for the position of Media Commons Coordinator. Reporting to the Head of the Undergraduate Library, the successful candidate for this newly-created position will provide leadership for the establishment of the Undergraduate Library's Media Commons. The Media Commons Coordinator will collaborate with colleagues in the Library and across campus to develop programs and services that focus on undergraduate students and instructors creating and using media in course-related activities. The Media Commons Coordinator will establish strategic relationships and design services and instructional programs supporting undergraduate students' curricular requirements in the creation, dissemination, use, and curation of digital media. The Media Commons service model is built on a commitment to providing flexible technology-intensive spaces, training and educational programs focused on students and faculty engaged in instruction, and programming designed collaboratively by librarians, faculty, and campus providers of technology services to undergraduates. The Media Commons Coordinator participates in related Library and campus committees and ad hoc groups and serves as a resource for other Library units, including the Scholarly Commons.

Local History Archivist/Librarian - Decatur Public Library

Decatur Public Library is seeking a Local History Archivist/Librarian with an ALA-accredited MLS, and archival management experience in a related field. Work involves all aspects of collecting, organizing, preserving and providing access to a non-circulating collection of primary and secondary sources that document the history of the City of Decatur, its inhabitants, government, environment, businesses, institutions and organizations.  Materials related to the history of Macon County, its communities and Illinois genealogical, archival and library collections in the area will also be maintained in cooperation with other historical organizations.
