In support of I-Share, the CARLI Digital Collections and other CARLI services, CARLI’s Library Services Coordinator works with CARLI’s management and staff, as well as with CARLI member library staff to plan and implement new services, to develop and present continuing education programs, to organize consortial meetings, and to coordinate problem analysis and resolution.

Responsibilities: The Veterinary Medicine Librarian manages all aspects of the Veterinary Medicine Library in support of the teaching, research, and public service activities of the faculty, staff, and students of the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) and related units in the College of ACES, across campus and throughout the state of Illinois.  Duties include:

·         Manage the unit budget, staff and operations.

    ·         Provide reference and instructional services, collection development and management, and  develop and deliver new services.

    ·         Contribute to Library-wide information, instruction, collection development, and research support services, including services related to data stewardship and access.

    ·         Serve as liaison between the University Libraries and the CVM  and related departments, institutes, centers, and programs on campus.

    ·         Actively participate in CVM activities, such as new student orientation, grand rounds, and committee assignments.

    ·         Serve as liaison with collection development responsibilities in related areas of the College of Agriculture, Consumer and Environmental Sciences (ACES), including, but not limited to, regular reference hours and participation in Funk Library service activities.

    ·         Actively participate in relevant professional organizations.

Librarian I Adult Services - Bloomington Public Library

High energy, flexible, creative, and collaborative style necessary to lead, design, coordinate, and implement effective teen services and programming within the community.  Selects materials for the teen collection and adult graphic novel collection.  Other responsibilities include supervising teen volunteers; coordinating the Teen Advisory Board; assisting customers of all ages with research/reference needs; and contributing to the Library’s digital presence, including social networking and blogs.  Is a member of the Adult Services department and reports to the Adult Services Manager.

Assistant Head of Circulation Division - Decatur Public Library

Head of Reference Services - Loyola University Chicago

Loyola University Chicago invites applications from enthusiastic, self-motivated librarians to join our team. Librarians at Loyola University Chicago have faculty status and participate in University committees, but are non-tenured and receive 12 month appointments. The University Libraries recently adopted a system of rank and promotion for the library faculty.

The Head of Reference Services is responsible for the day to day operations of the Reference Department for the Lake Shore Campus and provides leadership for reference services within the University Libraries. This position works collaboratively with the Director of the Information Commons, the Head of the Lewis Library (Water Tower Campus), the Head of Access Services and other department heads to provide a high level of seamless public service. This position reports to the Associate Dean for Collections and Services.

Library System Director - Arrowhead Library System

ALS is a one-county federated library system headquartered in Janesville, Wisconsin.  The goal of the ALS is to provide open access and library services to all Rock County residents as effectively and cost efficiently as possible.  Under the general direction of a 7-member Board, the Director exercises the day-to-day administrative responsibilities for the system and provides services as set forth by policies established by the Board of Directors.  The Director works with libraries in Beloit, Clinton, Edgerton, Evansville, Janesville, Milton and Orfordville.

The position is located in Janesville, Wisconsin.  The normal business hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  The requirements for the position are:

  • Masters Degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited library school.
  • At least five years of professional library experience which includes three years of supervisory experience and a variety of administrative responsibilities.
  • Experience in public libraries is required.
  • Experience in regional systems and/or other types of libraries is desirable.
  • Experience in technology planning is required.
  • A valid Wisconsin driver's license and the ability to attend various meetings throughout the county and regionally.

Librarian - City of Moline

JOB CHARACTERISTICS: Under the direction of the adult/young adult services coordinator, uses professional reference and research skills, often involving multiple computer databases to provide information to the public; demonstrates initiative and creativity and exercises independent judgment in the application of a variety of established policies and procedures; maintains patron confidentiality; evaluates and selects materials for collection development within a budget; creates and conducts programming, readers’ advisory, instructional classes and outreach for both the public and staff; writes grants, policies, bibliographies and reviews; acts as back-up supervisor and as lead worker in area of responsibility; provides skilled, efficient and courteous service to the public.  Performs other duties as assigned.
