Instructional Services Librarian/Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor - UIS

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum: Master’s degree in library science or equivalent from an ALA-accredited school and at least two years of experience in public service and instruction in an academic library. Ability to contribute in a fast-paced, collaborative environment; excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience with Web 2.0 best practices as applied to libraries. Evidence of user-focused perspective. Preferred: Experience in online teaching and the development of online tutorials; background in the humanities or social sciences.

BASIC FUNCTIONS
Working collaboratively with other faculty and staff in the Library Instructional Services Program and other Brookens Library units, enhances teaching and learning for the students, faculty and staff of the University of Illinois Springfield through the provision of reference, instruction, collection development, and other services to promote information literacy and lifelong learning.

Director of Learning Resource Center - Kaskaskia College

Kaskaskia College is seeking applications for the above position.  This is a 12-month, full-time, Professional/Managerial position, eligible for fringe benefits.  Salary range is $48,000 to $53,000 annually.  Position responsible for coordinating and managing all aspects of the College’s Library and Learning Resources operations and coordinating the College’s professional growth and development program.

Position requires Master’s degree in Library Science or related field from an ALA accredited institution and minimum of three years library work experience. Also requires experience with library technology, knowledge of library functions including reference, public services, collection development, bibliographic instruction, acquisitions, cataloging, classification, circulation, electronic resources, and media services and experience working with diverse populations. Also requires demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the community college mission and philosophy, strong understanding of and commitment to teamwork, process leadership, and consensus decision making, excellent oral and written and communication skills, and demonstrated proficiency in organizing and planning. Community college library experience preferred.

Head of Technical Services- Decatur Public Library

Decatur Public Library is seeking a Head of Technical Services with an ALA-accredited MLS, and cataloging experience in a public library. Work involves all aspects of TS; acquisitions, cataloging and processing of all library materials.  Thorough knowledge of Dewey Decimal Classification, Library of Congress Subject Headings and AACR2, with considerable familiarity with OCLC and RDA.  Knowledge of and experience with library automation systems.  Minimum 3 years’ experience, with original cataloging experience is required.

Robert Morris University Illinois seeks a part-time Library Coordinator for the Peoria location.

The Library Coordinator will provide research assistance to students, staff and faculty at the Peoria location. The Library Coordinator will also be responsible for cataloging, collection development, inter-library loan and bibliographic instruction. This position will also supervise student workers in the library and is required to work evenings and late afternoons.

Visiting Metadata Librarian for Web-Scale Discovery - UIUC

Duties and Responsibilities: The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Library is implementing the Primo Central web-scale discovery system (WDS); we are seeking a dynamic individual to spearhead the planning, implementation, and management of metadata creation/provision for this project.  The incumbent will participate in and help to lead the work of the WDS Implementation Team; design, test, and develop metadata creation, remediation and transformation workflows, search services, authority control and access technologies; and apply the appropriate metadata schemas to support the WDS.

Director of the Research Commons, Assistant or Associate Professor - SIUE

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:  Reports to the Dean of Library and Information Services (LIS).  The Director of the Research Commons is a member of the Administrative Team, responsible for managing all units of the Research Commons including reference services, collection management, subject liaison librarians, and University Archives & Special Collections.  The Director works with the Commons faculty and staff to plan, develop, implement, and assess all aspects of the Research Commons.  The Director and subject librarians provide input to the Director of Instruction and Outreach in developing the general instruction program.  As an information professional in a tenure-track faculty position, regular contributions are required in scholarship, research and other creative activities in library and information science, or related disciplines.  A high level of proficiency in librarianship, including the use of relevant technology and best practices in public services is expected.

Working collaboratively with other Brookens Library faculty and staff, plans, manages and delivers excellent services in the library’s learning spaces, reference/information spaces and Access Services unit.  Serves as a liaison to assigned departments, providing instructional and collection development services.   Manages student engagement initiatives, including outreach to high school groups.  Works with other instructional services librarians to promote information literacy and lifelong learning.
