Moving Forward TOGETHER

October 24, 2011

Looking Ahead
The next few weeks will be busy ones for IHLS staff:

The October IHLS Board meeting will be held tomorrow at the Edwardsville office.  You can find meeting materials here.

We all look forward to the LLSAP vendor demonstrations to be held November, and we strongly encourage registration via LibraryLearning (L2):
Polaris - November 7 & 8, 9 am-5 pm, Keller Convention Center, Effingham
SirsiDynix Symphony - November 15 & 16, 9 am -5 pmKeller Convention Center, Effingham

We invite any IHLS LLSAP member library staff to attend these two demonstrations.  We will also offer web-based recordings of the demonstrations so those who cannot attend the in-person sessions can view the presentations and evaluate the products as well.   Critical to the success of the evaluation is the need for membership input from everyone who attends either the in-person sessions or views the recordings.

Getting To Know You

As our member leaders were crafting a new library system last year, they appreciated the high value of member input and viewed Advisory Councils as one way to gain that feedback.  If you would like to participate on a council, please tell us a little about yourself, and we will take it from there!

Be a part of the Exchange list!

eXchange-logo2.pngHave you ever had a book to give away, or an idea to share, or maybe an event that’s going on at your library and you want to share it with libraries in IHLS?  Then you will want to be a part of our newest listserv.  We call it “Exchange”.  On the Exchange list, you are in charge of the content.  IHLS staff encourages all of our libraries, regardless of LLSAP membership, to share announcements, opportunities to learn, and of course materials across the entire IHLS area.  Membership is completely voluntary and you must sign up in order to start receiving emails.
